How does my Nori Press work?

So glad you asked! The Nori Press harnesses the same technology as an iron or steamer, but in a new form factor that prioritizes efficiency. The device applies direct heat and pressure to remove unwanted wrinkles on both sides of your garment simultaneously. A garment should be placed between the device’s two heated plates at which point the user should clamp firmly and drag slowly to press out wrinkles in its path. Which fabrics can I use this on?

The device has six fabric specific heat settings: linen, denim, cotton, wool, silk, and polyester. For more sensitive fabrics such as silk, we recommend starting with just steam. For exact instructions on how to press and/or steam, visit our How to Use Page.

Does The Nori Press work overseas?

Yes! The Nori Press is now compatible with dual-voltage outlets and can be used with an international converter when traveling overseas.

Why does a white bar of light appear when I plug in my device?

This white line is to let you know that your device is plugged in and receiving electric currents, but does not mean that your device is on. Once powered off using the power button, any visible fabric setting should disappear and your device will begin cooling.

How do I prevent my device from spitting water when in steam mode?

Our device has been specifically designed to prevent any spitting when used correctly. In order to do so, please keep the nose of the device pointed upwards so our pump may continually source water and push a steady stream of steam. For a demonstration, please visit our How to Use Page.

I heard a weird sound when my device ran out of water. Is this normal?

This is totally normal! When the Nori Press runs out of water, the associated pump begins to pull in air which makes the noise you are referencing. Until we can replace this sound with a short Beyonce melody, do not be alarmed.

How much does the Nori Press weigh?

The device weighs 1.5 pounds. We can guarantee this is less than lifting an iron and board.

How long does it take to heat up?

To reach it's highest temperature (Linen), the Nori Press takes an average of 3 minutes to heat up. If your device has been stored in a cooler setting, required heat-up time may increase.

Do I need to descale my device?

Before we answer this question, we recommend you always fill your device with our signature “Fabric Facial.” The use of this solution will prevent residue build up such as limescale clogging your device and preventing the production of steam. You can shop our Fabric Facial here.

Should you not have access to our Fabric Facial, you can fill your device with tap water, though deionized water is recommended.

If you live in a region with hard water and use tap water to fill your device, you might want to descale your Nori Press from time to time.

You can descale your device using a gentle vinegar with at least 12% acetic acid. Do not use a descaler since this might harm the device from the inside and generate strong acids we do not want you to inhale.

Below you will find a five step guide on how to descale your device with vinegar:

  1. Drop 1 cl of vinegar (at least 12%) in the water tank
  2. Fill the rest of the tank with water.
  3. Steam until the tank is empty (not on clothes, of course). Some discolored chalk-like residue will come out of the steam holes on the interior plate. Please keep the head of the device over a sink throughout this process.
  4. Fill the tank again with fresh water only (no vinegar this time) and steam until the tank is empty again. Repeat until no further residue is emitted.
  5. Once all residue has been removed, turn your device off and wait for it cool. Once cool, take a soft cloth and wipe your plates clean.

The Trim

What does the Nori Trim Do?

The Nori Trim is an electric high-performance fabric shaver designed to remove pills, lint and pulls from any fabric. How do I use the Nori Trim?

To use your Nori Trim, turn your device on by pressing the power button. The power icon will turn white when powered on. Then, lay a garment flat and place the device's silver blade against the garment's pilled surface. Move the device in small circles or sweeping motions to remove the pills. Lastly, remember to empty the lint collector when it appears full. To do so, press firmly down on the white rectangular button and slide this chamber down & out of the device, removing any fuzz that has collected. How will I know when my device needs to be charged?

When powered on, the Trim’s power icon will turn red when the device requires charging. Charge your device using the USBC charging cord included. The white power icon will blink when charging. The power icon will turn green when fully charged.

Will this work on all fabrics?

The Nori Trim was designed to be used on all fabrics. The device’s six razor blades are encased in a protective blade cover that will prevent the blades from getting too close to a fabric in which damage could occur. That said, please operate the device with care, pressing the device’s blade into a fabric gently and applying additional pressure as needed. Be sure to always move the device in small circles or sweeping motions rather than holding it in one spot.

How do I clean my Nori Trim?

To clean your Nori Trim, remove the lint collector when it appears full and scoop out any collected lint with the provided white cleaning brush. Clean the interior of your device by carefully twisting off the blade cover to reveal the blade. Using that same brush, collect lint from your blade and the blade cavity. After repeated use, you can replace the device’s blade when it appears dull. Twist off the blade cover and carefully lift the blade away from the device. Using caution, carefully place a new blade onto the prong in the center of the cavity and adjust until you feel the blade slide into place. Does the device come with a charging cord?

Yes, the device is sold with a USBC charging cord in addition to 2 additional blades, a cleaning brush, and a canvas carrying bag.

Are there any safety features?

The device will automatically turn off and cannot be turned on when the blade cover is open or loose to protect you against exposure to spinning blades.

Can I use this on furniture (anything other than clothing)?

Of course! This device can be used on upholstered couches, blankets, curtains, etc. as well as accessories such as knit gloves, scarves, or hats.

Why do you suggest using Nori’s Fabric Facial?

This signature steam solution is designed to improve your device’s steaming performance. Filling your device with this solution will prevent calcification that is a result of using tap water and will often require descaling.

Nori’s Fabric Facial not only increases the longevity of your device, but is blended with a deodorizing technology that will remove unwanted odors when emitted as a spray or steam.

Why does my Fabric Facial come with a spray nozzle?

Fun Fact! Irons are most effective on damp garments. Before pressing, we recommend replacing the bottle’s cap with this spray nozzle and dampening your garment.

When do you suggest using the Fabric Facial?

How long will my Fabric Facial last?

A bottle of Fabric Facial is 8 ounces and will fill the Nori Press’ steam reservoir ~8 times. Your solution’s longevity, however, will vary depending on how often you use it as a spray vs. filling agent.

How soon can I receive my order?

Shipments typically arrive within 5-8 days of an order being placed. Orders placed after 1pm EST are processed the following business day. Should you choose to expedite your package, you should receive your order within 2-3 days.

How can I edit my shipping address?

If your order is shipping to an incorrect address, please email as soon as possible. If your order has already shipped, it cannot be updated for anything except future orders.

What is your return policy?

A product may be returned for a full refund within 30 days of receiving the order. The refund only applies if the product and its original packaging can be returned in the same condition as when received. We do not accept returns of opened Fabric Facials. The Travel Case must be returned in the canvas bag. To start a return, please visit our returns center: and enter your order number and zip code or email address. From there, you can select which items you're sending back and print a return label. The customer will be responsible for associated return costs. We will not take responsibility for returns that may get lost in the mail. All approved refunds will get processed within 7 days of arrival to the warehouse.
