Does the iron named one of Oprah’s favorite things actually remove wrinkles faster and easier than any other iron or steamer? Hundreds of online reviews say it does...so I tried it myself.

The ‘quiet luxury’ look dominates the socialite scene, and wrinkle-free clothing is the easiest way to achieve it with what’s already in your closet. Suffice to say, I’ve been spending A LOT of time ironing my clothes daily, and let me tell you - it’s annoying AF...

The clunky ironing board that I struggle to find room for in my tiny flat, the setup time, waiting for the iron to heat up, and the flipping and flopping of garments to hit the right spots - nothing about this experience is enjoyable for me.

The Crunched Denim Jean Test

Anticipating this moment, I left my jeans crunched up to dry from the wash the day before to ensure I had a good canvas to work with.

The setup was simple. I plugged the Nori in, tapped the denim setting using its smart-screen fabric gauge and hung my jeans on the closet door with a hanger.

Let me tell you, not having to wrestle with my ironing board or listen to that god-awful screech as it opened was worth the investment already...

The heat-up time was no joke. It was ready for action in minutes.

Starting with the left pant leg, I clamped the press around the front and back at the knee level.

My jeans were a real wrinkle-fest. I mean, even my iron would’ve taken at least 7 passes to remove these wrinkles.

The Nori Press erased them in one.

You have no idea how satisfying it was to finish each leg – watching each wrinkle disappear like magic with one smooth glide down.

BONUS: Like an iron, The Nori Press has a pointed tip to reach awkward spots, like around and in-between buttons, but it was the extended handle that really made the job easy. I could easily get the center of my jeans without flip-flopping them around an ironing board or repositioning the device over and over again.

Nori’s primary claim is that it offers a quicker way to iron your garments. I finished ironing my jeans in under a minute. They’re not lying.

From not having to wrestle with an ironing board or wait for my iron to heat up to downright being more effective in removing wrinkles in half the passes it would take my iron, The Nori Press showed serious promise of being a game-changer for me.

But, this was just jeans. Amazed by the results, like a mad scientist, I was ready to put this thing to the test.

Other Fabrics

Out of Nori’s six fabric-specific heat settings, I had three more materials ready to test A white linen blouse, a blue silk blouse, and a grey wool sweater.

One by one, like with my jeans, The Nori held up.

Yes, it removed the wrinkles with only one pass.
 Yes, I could easily reach the center of each garment and iron between the buttons to perfection - without having to reposition the shirt, the Nori, or my hands.

Everything about the experience was easy.

You plug in your Nori with your clothes waiting for you on the bed. No board, no hanger, nothing. You’re ready to free-hand these suckers because there’s no time, and Nori’s got your back.

With the tap of a button on its smart screen, the device sets to the correct temperature between fabrics within seconds.

But the delightful surprises didn’t stop there...

BONUS: I’m a busy-minded person - often bouncing from one activity to another. This has proven to be a dangerous affair with my iron and hair straightener. I haven’t burnt the house down or anything, but my fingertips have a story to tell.

Traveling With Nori

I brought my Nori to an old friend’s wedding, where I flew from the East Coast to the Midwest.

At 1.4 lbs and 14 inches long, I knew packing it into my carry-on wouldn’t be an issue. It’s not bulky or awkwardly shaped, so it didn’t create empty space/prevent me from packing more things.

When it came time to iron my Satin dress, I had an audience after hyping the device up to my friends. Normally, I’d use a steamer on satin, so it was the perfect opportunity to test Nori’s steamer function.

It worked like a charm! The water was easy to fill, it didn’t leak, and I didn’t have to refill halfway through.

The travel wrinkles from being stuffed into my carry-on were no match.

I finished ironing my dress within 5 minutes, including setup time.

While I wasn’t surprised, you should have seen my girlfriend's face...yes, she now owns a Nori, too.

I didn’t even think to include this in my review until it revealed itself to me...

I don’t know about you, but my guy NEVER irons his clothes.
